Compare travel insurance before March Break
A hospital visit outside of Canada could be costly.
A new RBC poll reveals that 10% of Canadians will be heading out of the country for March Break. While most vacationers will have a problem-free vacation, having a little too much fun could land you in the hospital.
RBC points out that a minor injury, like a spraining an ankle in Mexico, could cost upwards of $1000 to get fixed, while getting an asthma attack in Buffalo may cost travellers $750.
The best way to avoid the high costs? Travel insurance. But make sure to compare the benefits offered by your employer and credit card company — and to pay close attention to hidden restrictions — before you take off.
