Annual returns of key asset classes over the last 20 years
See how various asset classes performed over the last two decades.
Franklin Templeton Investments sent me this nifty graphic of how various asset classes have performed over the last 20 years. Click below to see the list — it’s too big of a file size for me to put right into this page.
The first thing you’ll notice is that no one asset class has done really well or extremely poorly. Everything is all over the place. The point they’re making is diversifying is key, and after seeing this chart, it’s hard to argue otherwise. It’s pretty cool and I may try to dig deeper into it soon. Feel free to comment if you make any observations.

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.
