An insider tip: Everybody has had a conflict. Go through the story and focus on how the issue got resolved.

A smart answer: “I had a person I was working with who had a completely different view on how to reach our goal. We were both on the same team, so we needed to work together. I did my best to try to convince him that this was the way to go, but he didn’t agree. He went to the boss and undermined me a couple of different ways, and it was really, really hard. I had to sit down and talk directly to him and ask him what I did to make him do that. I asked him what I could have done better so he wouldn’t have felt the need to go to our boss.”
