Question: “How would your boss describe you?”

An insider tip: These questions are intended as a superficial reference check. They’re looking for self awareness and to see if you’re open to constructive criticism. Never lie about what your boss would say about you, because if you do get the job and your boss is a reference for you and says something totally different than you said in the interview, you’re putting yourself at risk of not getting the job. It’s always best to play it all the way open.

A smart answer: “That’s not a hard question to answer because my boss and I have had many conversations about my strengths and opportunities. Let me take you through my last performance appraisal. Here are my strengths and here are my opportunities.”
