I live in Dubai ; its very lively city; restaurants, malls, shops, all close at 12:00 AM. for some reasons, Me and my husband will immigrate to Calgary as we heard its booming ( job wise), but on the other hand, we heard that its a very boring city. is that true

I live in Calgary and have for the past 11 years. It is not boring but it is very expensive to live here. The wages do not allow you to keep a roof over your head and to be able to afford entertainment. You will see that a one bedroom will cost you $1,000 to $1500.00 a month.
It's not boring, and is much cheaper to live than Dubai.
Hard labour work that requires clear English and approved tickets from their. Housing and living expensive are very high your first two week in that are can cost 3-6 thousand. And get so cold their trust me I'm walking around with two feet of snow right now.
Why must I pay money to want to immegrate ? I was told that once there are talks of money , it is a scam!! It happened to my husband and i before and we lost R1500.
You must pay the fees to the Canadian government. If you ask someone to fill out your paperwork, or translate your documents, you should also expect to pay them a fee of course. It is possible though to fill out all paperwork yourself, but you may not be as skilled as people from an agency. If Immigration Canada finds mistakes or omissios, you will have more work and it will take more time. It depends on what you are comfortable with.
An agency can not guarantee you that you will get accepted for immigration, but they can be helpfull and knowledgeable.
I love Canada! After WWII my father (I wasn't born yet…) had the opportunity to work as a welder in Canada. He didn't want to emigrate from Holland to Canada. It was probably a too uncertain step for him I guess. What a pity! I would have been Casey Smith in stead of Kees Smit.
Maybe someday I wil have the luck of becoming a Canadian.

St. John's is the 3rd warmest winter city in Canada behind Victoria and Vancouver, that is according to Environment Canada's statistics and it is far from being the worst place to live. I have lived in 5 different cities and my heart always belonged to St. John's where I have now settled forever. Whoever wrote this article has it completely wrong.

First of all, that was a beautiful picture of St. John's! Well done on that. As for your findings…I have to disagree. We are having a fantastic winter here in Newfoundland…! and the last 4 or 5 were good also.
Most of those in Bay Roberts are fishermen…Do you have any idea how much taxes these guys pay into the government every year…I would say twice as much and more as you are paying. What they get back on UI for a couple of months doesn't come close to what they paid in, in taxes. I personally am not from Bay Roberts…but I do know quite a few of them. The government does quite well from those hard working fishermen.
Fredericton, NB is ranked 7th on the list which is wonderful and I am very proud of our small city, but do not think of coming to New Brunswick for a high paying job unless you are bilingual …. If you are french it's OK if you speak a little English, but if you are English and speak very little French you will not find very many jobs paying more than minimum wage for the average individual. I came to NB with 25 years experience in office administration and could find nothing with the exception of the universities, who appear to at this time only hire individuals with University or College educations. Just offering a warning to those who are planning administrative or office work.

This article is nothing but a tease. I got tired trying to find "the best city".
There is no such a thing call best place or worst places to live. When you have a good job, making good money, living well above average that is a good place to live. When you got no job or low pay job, you or your family barely stay alive or living under average that is not a good place. You just can’t move to the other place call “good place” and get rich from there.
The town I am living now is a small NWT town, but still many millionaires around; they lived here for all of their life. Many kids grew up here, went to big city colleges…and come back here to work, to build their family.
Good or bad is on individual person or family thinking, not on couple people seating on high rise, air conditioning office in big city think.

I totally agree with you, the best place is somewhere you are nearer to your dream, so you should make it clear with your mind not with the place.
I sure wouldn't want to live where crime is high and my life is in danger. Lets get real.
