Canadians main financial priority in 2013 is paying down debt according to a CIBC poll. In the annual poll conducted by Harris/Decima for CIBC, it found that more of us are focused on paying down outstanding debts rather than on retirement planning or saving.
The poll found that 17% of Canadians wish to pay down debt while only 7% of us feel that retirement planning is our main financial goal. Savings was the main focus for 10% of those polled while day to day budgeting was the goal of 8% of Canadians.
