The consumer price index fell to its lowest point in nearly two years thanks mainly to drops in the cost of gas.

  • Annual inflation fell to 1.2% last month to lowest the consumer price index reading in almost two years, according to Statistics Canada. Gas prices saw their first year-over-year drop in nearly two years with pump prices down 2.3% in May. Clothing and cars saw price reductions too.

  1. Thanks for the include, I appreciate it! Inflation still seems to be there in food, and probably housing prices, too. I wonder what the long trend is going to be.
