  2. Me and my family just moved to Lacombe in August and we really love living there. Our kids made friends and lots of friends as soon as they went to school. The town is growing and there is big things happening and we are excited for the years to come.

      • Edmonton alberta has lots of jobs. a lot of oil related jobs too. It is a well run city and a very nice part is Riverbend. == in the southwest. That's where we live. If you want a smaller place on the edge of Edmonton it is St. Albert to the north. We have a lot!!! of sunshine here. Can be cold Dec. Jan. but summer are lovely. We have the largest river valley parklands of any city in Canada. Hope this is helpful.

    • My fiance is pregnant and we have been thinking of relocating out of Greater Vancouver to somewhere with good old fashioned small town values. I never even heard of Lacombe before i saw this site. What kind of stores do they have their ? How is the job industry ?

  3. I have two kids 8 and 10 and we are moving from the US and have read alot of great reviews on Lacombe Alberta, just wondering about the health insurance, worried about my kids being able to see a doctor when they are sick or if there is a waiting list. Would appreciate any feedback at this time.

  4. I agree with Marshal. Kids learn from their parents and good parents raise good kids. People who have undiciplined pets (dogs) also have undiciplined and out of control kids. We see many, many people walking their dogs on a lease that allows the dog to manover anywhere it wishes and no doubt their kids do the same. My kids grew up in a small town where the police very frequently picked up young kids and took them home to their parents and many teenagers were alcohol and drug users. My kids were not once in trouble in school or with the law and neither did they use drugs of alcohol nor did they smoke cigarettes. As parents, my wife and I were mentors and involved the kids in sports and they excelled at the provencial and national level. They both graduated from university with a degree and my son is now a GIS specialist and my daughter is an airline Pilot with West-Jet.
