The snowbird lifestyle isn’t just for the rich. For more on how you too can soak up the sunshine each winter, read “Follow the flock south.”

* These are general guidelines and costs can be higher, depending on individual circumstances. Keep in mind that groceries, eating out, and gas prices in the U.S. and Mexico are 30% to 60% cheaper than Canada, so you will realize some savings.

  1. I have spent two January’s in Southern Florida(Punta Gorda) and was looking further south in Naples for this year. The quote of ‘an abundance of modestly priced condo rentals at $1000/month” has not been my search experience. but rather $2200 and up.I would be most interested to learn where one might locate such accommodation-web site/search engine, etc..

  2. 20 hour drive, no hotel stops, $250.
20 hour drive, 3 hotel stops, $1400? I think you can fine cheaper hotels than $380 a night!
