Women are more conservative than men when it comes to investing and less likely to put faith in government pension plans, a recent survey reveals.
BlackRock Inc.’s Female Investor Survey finds that women are not only more cautious investors than men, but they also differ in their reasons for investing.
Women identified supplementing their pension plans (59%) and maintaining their lifestyle in retirement (65%) as important reasons to generate income from their investments, while 44% and 49% of men felt the same way, respectively. And while 34% of men believe government and public pension plans will remain viable, only 24% of women agree.
