TSX should soar during Olympics

Buy low, sell during the Olympics. According to HSBC senior equity specialist Douglas Rowat, that could be one way to make some quick cash. The analyst looked back at all the summer and winter games since 1988 and discovered that during the Olympic games, the host country’s stock market was up 58% with an overall average return of 0.9%.

When Calgary hosted, the market climbed 3.2%, beating the the S&P 500 during that time by 1.2%.
