Separate reports by Deloitte and Ernst & Young suggest Canadians will spend upwards of 2% more this holiday season as compared to last year. Cost is king however among the majority of respondents to the Deloitte survey who said that low prices are the most important consideration. Meanwhile 70% of respondents to the EY survey indicated they would do online research before buying.  In all, online shopping will account for nearly 29% of all spending, Deloitte said while cross-border shopping has plateaued. We’re also a bunch of eager beavers Deloitte found. More than 40% of Canadians have already started or plan to start before Black Friday on November 29 .
