Indexes finish year in positive territory

Last year was a tough one for stock market indices, with most of the world’s indexes ending 2008 off deep in negative territory. Of course, what goes down must also, eventually, go up. In 2009 almost all the indexes tracked by Bloomberg were in the black. Unfortunately, Bahrain, Bermuda and Slovakia weren’t so lucky — these are the only countries that have a big minus sign in front of their year-end exchange numbers.
