•On a related note, Canadian employees are among the happiest in the world. Global staffing firm Randstad released data Wednesday that showed 31% of Canadians are “very satisfied” with where they’re working, good enough for the highest-ranking in non-European country and fifth overall.

Household debt trends are improving but debt remains a serious problem, warned Bank of Canada Governor Mark Carney. Recent drops in debt accumulation and new mortgages on short-term variable rates are encouraging but household debt is still the number one domestic risk to the Canadian economy, he said.
