  4. wow, alot of bitches posting comments here. you really have no idea how good you actually have it anywhere in canada…very few thoughtful posts mixed in with the usual complainers and apathetic bitches.

  5. Just another immagrant looking for a free ride….

  6. Shilpa you are described in one word….IGNORANT. Canada has one of the best health care and education systems in the world. Real Canadians admire the diverse 4 seasons our nation has to offer. Be sure to bare arms in your new home because everyone else is. I will stick around in Canada where gun control is a priority.

  7. Has anyone lived through Ottawa's winter or summer? I have! Temps range from -40C to +40C, just heavenly climate ! … and I won't talk about the snow that lasts up until summer :). Only 2 seasons there, winter and summer.
Just on a last note some more facts. Vancouver has much dryer summers than Ottawa. You can have a little more rain to bare in winter instead of -40s and meters of snow shovelling, but when summer comes the rain is gone and sun is out. Ottawa on the other hand has all the humid and stormy summers where you can't really use any outside time but watch the time go by from the indoors :). This is applicable for both seasons in Ottawa. At least in Vancouver you can go out in a rain, and plus you can drive safer too!
But let’s move on! This is otherwise a cute town. However, I found my dream place here in Hollywood North!

  8. I guess for Money Sense Azerbaijan could top the list as the best place to live in a world. It has almost 0% unemployment rate and although its GDP is just shy of $5,500 it is probably very affordable place to live. I can’t see real estate being very expensive there … :)
P.S Just between you and me, I think this whole best city thing in Canada is all Parlament Hill's conspiracy. They just got to live in a best city!

  9. I actually lived in Whistler and Vancouver and they are the most beautiful places in the world and there is no stress and smog like in Toronto–However the cost of living is higher then in Ontario because there is alot of foreign money coming into Vancouver–

  10. edmonton is by far the best place in canada to live i think.

  11. go home we dont want you here

  12. It's obvious that the criteria for this assessment did "not" involve asking the people who live in these communities as to their opinion. I've lived in five provinces and four of your top five cities. I cann't imagination the reason for not mentioning Charlottetown, P.E.I. except that it is in a category of its own, simply outstanding.

  15. I don't know where you are getting your info. I live in New Brunswick – one of the less well funded provinces – and here my friend (without a degree make into the 30,000 and those with are making in the 40,000's and +. I am in my twenties and have yet to finish my degree, but still expect to be able to buy a nice house within the next 2-4 years. I would also like to point out that Canada handled the recession beautifully – we bounced back quicker than any other country, and have recovered with minimal damages. For someone who claims that Canada is the worst place to live in the WORLD, you clearly know nothing about it – or world issues. Pick up a newspaper, read a book, educate yourself somehow! Inflation happens worldwide!

  16. If you don't like Canada, then please, by all means LEAVE! We welcomed you with open arms, but if all you're going to do is bash us, then we'd be happy to see you go back to wherever you came from.

  17. I am living in Toronto. Thinking of move to Vancouver, Calgary or Edmonton, which is the best place for living and working. Any suggestion?

  18. I agree keep spreading the word JM

  19. That seems excellent although i am just still not so sure that I prefer it. Anyways will look further into it and decide for myself! :)

  21. OMG! Are you serious Shilpa. You have the audacity to complain about a country that provides you and your family with everything and most of it for FREE! Come On! Some nerve you have! Remember you came to us, we didn't ask you to come! Don't like it, go BACK TO YOUR COUNTRY!!! I'm a Canadian and proud of it – Don't like it, adios amigos!

  22. i also have used the medical care in the US and because i had good coverage i was seen very quickly at the emergency room for an ear ache, however the gentleman, (who was also int the emerg way before i arrived) missing a finger from an accident had been waiting hours to see a doctor , he had no coverage. Atleast in Canada we are all treated the same and based purely on severity. and for the record dental cost are the same in the US as canada .( we have pretty much the same fee guide) If you need dental care Public health offers care for people of low income families. You dont see that in the US. one more thing my friend in the US pays 400$ a month for good insurance. Think about that next time you curse this great country.

  23. @ Eastern Guy: I am going to say out loud what we in BC are all saying to ourselves and each other: You forgot to mention the large Asian population who are ruining everything they touch. They drove property values out of the reach of most honest hardworking Canadians. Rude, loud, and aggressive, they don't fit in, so they just take overin large numbers. Sadly lacking in social skills, it is the almost universal consensus here that they are destroying Canada's reputation as a polite and compassionate society.

yes, shilpa, things aren't perfect here. things are getting tougher for everyone. but you seem like another spoiled immigrant who bought into the horatio algiers myth.
why should everything be easy for you here? is it easy for everyone else, people who were born and raised here? and why is it too late to go back? if your country of origin is so wonderful they should allow you back with open arms and a gift certificate to walmart.
i hate to say it but the canadian system is faliing apart due to vultures and leeches like yourself who feel a sense of entitlement to our benefits paid by our tax dollars. systems built up by generations of canadians and now abused and sucked dry by overbearing, greedy parasites like yourself. go back to india or wherever it is you are from and have fun crawling through the streets with your 1.2 billion neighbours
